FAQ

Practical questions before you start.

These answers explain service boundaries and the information required for a focused sourcing conversation.

What information is needed to start?

A useful first brief includes the product category, target market, expected quantity, timing, any supplier details and what your team needs to verify or decide.

Can you guarantee product quality or supplier performance?

No. We can perform the checks included in the agreed scope and document the findings. The buyer remains responsible for final product approval, commercial commitments and shipment decisions unless a written agreement states otherwise.

Do you work with a minimum order value?

Not for a standalone check. Supplier verification, a product inspection or a factory audit is priced per job, so there is no order size it refuses. A full sourcing engagement on commission makes sense from about USD 5,000 of order value; below that the commission does not cover the work, and we will say so and suggest a scoped check instead of taking the engagement.

How do we pay you, and in what currency?

Service fees are quoted and settled in US dollars by bank transfer (T/T), Payoneer, PayPal or XTransfer — whichever your finance team prefers. The goods themselves are paid by you directly to the factory; we never receive or hold that money. A standalone check is paid before it is booked. On a full engagement the commission is paid half when work starts and half when the pre-shipment inspection report is delivered and accepted; orders under USD 5,000 are paid in full up front. Invoice and payment details are set out in the written quotation.

What happens when an inspection fails?

The report lists each finding against the agreed specification and ends with a recommendation — rework, re-inspection, accept with a concession, or reject — and the decision is yours, in writing. Shipment is not released until you have made it. Rework and its cost are settled between you and the factory under your purchase terms; we carry the finding to the factory and record what was agreed. A re-inspection after rework is a new site visit and is charged at the published USD 99 per man-day, unless you are on a full engagement, where it is already inside the commission.

What if you get it wrong?

If a report misses something within its agreed scope or states a finding that turns out to be wrong, and that is established on the evidence, we refund the fee for that piece of work and repeat it at no charge. We do not underwrite the value of the goods or the order; a check is priced at USD 99, not as insurance, and the buyer keeps the final acceptance decision. Anything outside the written scope — a criterion that was not agreed, a lot that was not presented — is not something the report can be held to.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes. Before any work starts we confirm in writing that your product, specifications, drawings, pricing and supplier details are not disclosed to any third party. If your company has its own NDA we will sign it; if not, we have an English template you can use. Where we already serve a buyer in the same category, we will tell you that a conflict exists without disclosing who they are, and you decide whether to proceed.

Who pays for samples, and who keeps them?

Sample charges and courier costs are paid by you directly to the factory or the courier — you can put your own courier account on the shipment — and we add nothing to either. Once you approve a sample, we seal a reference copy and keep it in Jinhua so that inspections are checked against the thing you approved rather than a description of it. When the engagement ends, the sealed sample is returned to you or destroyed, as you instruct.

What is the difference between a factory audit and an inspection?

An audit reviews a factory's capability and controls at a point in time. An inspection checks agreed product and packaging criteria against an available production lot or shipment scope.

Can you help with products found on Alibaba or other platforms?

A platform listing can be a starting point. We can discuss a defined supplier verification, factory audit or product inspection scope against your actual requirement.

Who does the work if Kevin is unavailable?

There is a small team in Jinhua, and colleagues here have years of export sourcing experience across different categories. In practice that means two things: a visit still happens when the person who usually handles your account is at another factory, and where we can, the person sent is one who has seen your product type before. You are given a named owner and a named second person rather than a shared inbox and a hope.

Do you store, kit or dropship goods?

No. We have no warehouse, and kitting, repacking, storage and blind shipping are not services we offer. What we do instead is check the goods before they leave the factory and coordinate the handover to the 3PL or forwarder you engage. If a project genuinely needs assembly or fulfilment in China, that is a different kind of company and we will say so rather than take it on.

Can you design the product, or review it for manufacturability?

No. We do not provide engineering judgement, design work or design-for-manufacture review. Those belong with your own engineer or the factory's engineering team, and we coordinate between the two — carrying the question, making sure the answer is written down, and checking that what gets made matches what was agreed.

Do you handle freight or customs clearance?

No, and the separation is deliberate. We coordinate the handover — collection booked to your timing, verified carton counts and weights passed on rather than the supplier's estimates, documents checked against the inspection result — and we can introduce a forwarder you contract with directly. The booking, the clearance, the importer of record and the liability in transit stay with them, because the party judging whether goods are acceptable should not be the party whose schedule benefits from them shipping.

Do you provide customs, tax or legal advice?

No. Tools and guides on this site are planning aids. Confirm final customs, tax, product compliance and contractual matters with qualified advisers and the relevant authorities.
